Our Story

A Farm Reimagined

Sugar Creek Farm began its next chapter in March 2025, when we purchased what was then a functioning flower farm in New Hampshire. While the property already held beauty and potential, we saw an opportunity to expand it into something more diversified, resilient, and community-focused. Rather than replacing what was there, we chose to build upon it, transforming the property into a diversified working farm and farmstand centered around sourdough breads, baked goods, eggs, local produce and products, animal care, and a growing network of community connections.

From the beginning, our goal was not just to farm but to build something sustainable, meaningful, and lasting.

meet us

Sugar Creek Farm is owned and operated by us, Maddison and Stephen, partners in both life and farming. Maddison brings a background in animal care, education, and hands-on farm management, and is currently pursuing an advanced degree in Animal Health and Behavior. Her passion lies in responsible animal husbandry, diversified farming systems, and building educational opportunities around agriculture and stewardship. As a U.S. Army veteran, her experience continues to shape her commitment to building something meaningful through this farm and supporting fellow veterans and military families within the community. Stephen’s background and passion for horticulture shape much of the farm’s plant-based direction. With a strong understanding of growing systems, plant health, and sustainable cultivation, he helps guide the farm’s expansion in a way that balances productivity with long-term soil health. His appreciation for animal care and daily farm work is equally central to the operation, reinforcing the belief that diversified farms function best when every part supports the whole. Together, we are growing Sugar Creek Farm intentionally, season by season, step by step.

A diversified farm by design

Sugar Creek Farm is intentionally diversified. We believe resilience comes from balance, not relying on one product, one system, or one season.

Our farmstand offers sourdough breads, baked goods, eggs, seasonal items, and products from nearby artists and producers. Supporting local isn’t just a phrase here; it’s part of how we operate. When you shop at Sugar Creek Farm, you’re supporting not only our farm, but a wider network of neighbors and makers.

Diversification also shapes how the farm functions day to day. Chickens provide eggs for baking while helping manage insects naturally. Quail offer additional eggs in a small, efficient footprint. Rabbits contribute nutrient-rich manure that supports soil health and garden growth. Each part of the farm serves a purpose, creating a system where animals, soil, and food production support one another.

As the farm continues to grow, we look forward to welcoming additional species and expanding our animal program thoughtfully and responsibly.

Flemish Giant Rabbits

Our Flemish Giant rabbits provide nutrient-dense manure that supports soil health and sustainable garden growth. As they prepare to become mothers, they help grow the farm in more ways than one.

Community, sustainability and growth

Sugar Creek Farm is built with long-term sustainability in mind. That means steady growth rather than rapid expansion, quality over scale, and thoughtful decision-making at every stage.

We are proud to be a veteran-owned farm and deeply value supporting our local and military communities. As the farm continues to evolve, we look forward to creating space for gatherings, educational opportunities, and events that bring people together around food, agriculture, and connection, including opportunities to connect and support fellow veterans.
